Living Places starts with a simple idea: caring for nature should support the people who protect it. We work with landowners and local communities to identify what makes their land special, from forests and remarkable trees to streams and wildlife habitat. Together, we develop a conservation agreement: what will be protected, how it will be cared for, and how funding will support that work. Then we connect the project with people and organizations who want to help. As funding becomes available, landowners receive payments under their agreements. Supporters can follow the work through photos, field updates, and clear financial reporting. For suitable projects, the next step is assessing a path toward independently verified carbon credits. This takes additional work and is never guaranteed, but it could provide another source of income to keep the land conserved for longer.
